Republicans are possibly making a huge mistake by going after House Judiciary Committee Chair Adam Schiff. As much as I don’t like the guy (and I really, really, really don’t like him), it’s silly to start calling for him to step down knowing there are somewhere between 300-1000 pages in the full Mueller report.
The GOP is claiming since Attorney General William Barr’s report said the President was not involved in collusion with Russia during the 2016 election, they’re trying to drive the point home by calling for Schiff’s resignation.

But here’s the thing, and it’s a huge “but.” If the report shows any evidence at all of wrongdoing by the President or his campaign, which it almost certainly does, then Schiff is not stepping out of bounds with his remarks before and after the Barr summary was released. Was he perhaps a bit too aggressive with his attacks on the President? Yes. That’s politics. Now that part of the truth is out and it looks good for the President, that should be the Republicans’ focus. It’s far too early to turn the table on Schiff.
If the full 300+ page report shows there is no evidence whatsoever of wrongdoing by the President or his staff during the campaign, THEN it’s time to go after Schiff. Until then, they’re sounding like unhinged Democrats playing for media points.
