Texas Republican Rep. Troy Nehls declared Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis “not ready” to lead the Republican Party to in 2024 after the Florida politician made lurid remarks about the likely indictment of 45th President Donald Trump.
The House Freedom Caucus member declared DeSantis’ behavior “irresponsible,” and said it should disqualify him from seeking the presidency according to Just The News. DeSantis is rumored to be launching a presidential campaign after the Florida legislative session concludes this summer.
“Ron DeSantis had an opportunity to show that he was a true leader and that he supported President Donald Trump,” said Nehls, “but Donald Trump is living in Ron DeSantis’ head, that’s what he’s doing.”
