It’s no secret that Twitter generally supports, protects, and panders to Democrats. The progressive social network unabashedly limits, shadow-bans, suspends, and often completely bans conservative accounts for saying things that get “out of line” in their collectively leftist view. But sometimes, the unhinged nature of the platform creeps out beyond the constraints of their own rules and suspends people based on harmless jokes.
Such is the case of The Resurgent’s Erick Erickson. His Tweet was, “Elizabeth Warren set to introduce the Wrecking American Prosperity Under Marxism, of WAMPUM Act, whereby she gives everything away for free.”
This Tweet was deemed “Hateful Conduct.”
Now you lock people out for making a JOKE? And a funny one at that. This is about Warren’s political policies. This is getting ridiculous. pic.twitter.com/dD9ajrF7Rw

There is no rational, intelligent American who could read Erickson’s Tweet and come away thinking it was promoting violence against, threatening, or harassing Warren based on any of the protected classes they list. It’s not even debatable.
Here’s their list again in case you can’ see the Tweet:
Hateful conduct: You may not promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease. We also do not allow accounts whose primary purpose is inciting harm towards others on the basis of these categories.
This is Twitter violating its own hateful conduct policy by harassing Erick Erickson because they disagreed with his politics. It was a joke, and not an exceptionally provocative one by any stretch of the imagination. It’s outrageous.
