RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel went on Fox News today to discuss the Democratic field, which she characterized as “weak.” She said it’s necessary for the Republican Party to highlight the leftist trend among the Democratic presidential contenders to embrace socialist ideas.
“We have to educate people of the pitfalls of socialism because the Democrat Party is embracing it,” she said. “It sounds great but look underneath the hood, there’s a lot of problems there.”
Specifically, they discussed the Green New Deal, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s push towards the left that has some in DC concerned she’s embracing the radical progressive ideology that’s sweeping her party.
To McDaniel, the GOP needs to put a focus on what they’re offering the people versus the surface-level prosperity being offered by the Democrats.
“The path of individual freedom, of liberty, of entrepreneurship, of innovation, the American dream, or a socialist path that Democrats are trying to take us down, where government takes over your health care, your education,” she continued. “They make all these promises. They say it’s free. The problem is it’s not free.”
It’s refreshing to hear the RNC Chair discussing the election in terms of educating the people. The greatest threat is an under-informed voting block who sees socialism and thinks, “it doesn’t sound that bad.” It’s much worse than they know. Yet.
