There are many reasons Republican John James may be able to pull off the improbable and beat an incumbent Democrat in a reliably blue part of Michigan. He’s a West Point graduate, Iraq war veteran, has two masters degrees, and is exceptionally likable.
The other reason was evident this week as he defended himself on Twitter.
Mega-leftist Abdul El-Sayed went after James when he heard Donald Trump Jr. and Kid Rock would be stumping for the Republican candidate.
Nothing describes @MIGOP better than a man who has done nothing of value but mooch off his daddy–who mooched off *his* daddy. No action, just words.
Oh, & @KidRock, a confederate flag wrapped has been.
G'luck John! https://t.co/TKtgreVb6P

This didn’t sit well with James. El-Sayed not only said James hadn’t done anything, but that he “mooched” off his father. Here’s how he responded:
I'm a West Point grad & Iraq vet w/ 2 masters
My dad: Vietnam vet & entrepreneur
His dad: mason
His dad: sharecropper
His dad: slave.
Mooching? My family never asked for free stuff, just a fair shot. We can't allow the American Dream to be crushed by you, @Stabenow & Socialism https://t.co/u2vl4orM1P

James is going up against Senator Debbie Stabenow whose 43-year political career has shown very few successes other than being able to win elections. When she wins, she immediately goes to work on her next reelection bid. Meanwhile, James has been in the real world facing real problems and helping to keep Americans safe.
The people of Michigan are starting to take notice:
“There clearly has been dramatic movement in the U.S. Senate Race,” pollster Steve Mitchell of Mitchell Research & Communications said Wednesday. “This is clearly good news for the [John James] campaign.” The poll surveyed 654 likely general election voters with 50 percent conducted through cell phones and the other 50 percent from landline.
Michigan and America need Stabenow to take her failures out of DC and into the private sector. It’s time for John James to be the next Senator to bring much-needed courage and integrity to Capitol Hill.
