Media Research Center’s Newsbusters points out several puff interviews and pieces done by NBC’s Today and CBS’s Sunday Morning on the now 50-year-old pop culture magazine Rolling Stone. With so much talk about fake news, does anyone remember the fake story that Rolling Stone did regarding the sexual assaults on the University of Virginia? Nope, not even I, so it took the MRC and their Newsbusters web publication to refresh our memories. For the record, in the CBS package; they did talk about that scandal for under a minute. NBC’s Matt Laurer with his interview with Jann S. Wenner did not press the Rolling Stone founder hard enough regarding that incident.
In a friendly softball interview with Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner for Tuesday’s NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer celebrated the liberal magazine’s 50th anniversary: “For five decades, Rolling Stone magazine has been the home of the cool, the groundbreaking and the controversial….its influence has stretched into pop culture, entertainment, and politics, ultimately becoming the cultural bible for baby boomers.”
On November 9, Rolling Stone magazine celebrated the 50th anniversary of its first issue, published in the hippie neighborhood of Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco. True to form, liberal journalists – who claim to care so deeply about the menace of fake reporting – honored founder Jann Wenner and dismissed as insignificant the magazine’s 2015 “A Rape on Campus” scandal about the University of Virginia.
On November 5, CBS Sunday Morning host Jane Pauley gushed over Wenner as “the rock star of publishing,” and then minutes later, upgraded the flattery to “perhaps the most influential rock star on the planet.”
To sum it up, the main/shame/dominant left-wing progressive media loves Rolling Stone. I would guess that many of the journalists that work in the media these days read the publication at one time or another in the lives. What was counter-cultural back in the 1960’s is hands down popular cultural. Rolling Stone is also now for its advocacy of progressive politics and Democrat candidates including now past Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Both of which were able to serve two terms in office. Now the publication’s future is up in the air and who knows if it will get another 50 years.
Another publication’s future is up in the air as well. That being the NOQ Report. However Google News does recognize us as legit, and we want to be around in 50 years. Please read this statement from JD Rucker and find out how you can help support NOQ Report. We don’t want to be on “the cover of the Rolling Stone.” Just want to be voices for conservatives and federalists, and provide a voice for those who are disenfranchised from what is called conservatism and be a new tour de force for those people.
