Details are currently slim surrounding the alleged assault of Kentucky’s junior Senator Rand Paul. The crime occurred in Paul’s yard while he was mowing it. The suspect has been arrested and charged with 4th degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 12 months in jail.
Rene Boucher, 59, of Bowling Green, allegedly “blindsided” the Senator, causing cuts to his face and possibly injuring his ribs. Though the Senator complained of trouble breathing after the incident, his spokesperson said, “Senator Paul is fine.”
