Pennsylvania police said that two parents abused and starved their 6-year-old daughter while keeping her locked up in a dog crate.
On Tuesday, state police were called to the home of 37-year-old Jacob W. Weight and 33-year-old Mimi Ann Frost in Brownsville on a report of an unresponsive child.
Officers said that the house was full of dog feces, garbage, and urine. Other children in the home told police that the parents had kept the 6-year-old in a dog crate and hit her with a broom at least once.
Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said that an investigation concluded that the child had been “tortured.”The criminal complaint said the child was malnourished and had abrasions on her body as well as open sores.
