About 500 people packed into the Oakland Technical High School auditorium on May 30 and demanded answers and action from city leaders.
The town hall was called by Oakland Councilmember Dan Kalb, a Democrat, amid a spike in violent crime across the city. The Oakland Police Department and Department of Violence Prevention hosted the community meeting alongside Kalb.
