A dramatic incident unfolded in Farrell on an early Friday morning in late May as a concealed-carry permit holder bravely came to the aid of a local police officer during a shootout. Mercer County District Attorney Peter C. Acker revealed that the individual, armed with a valid concealed-carry permit and a firearm, went to the officer’s location and fired at the suspect in an act of defense.
The events transpired around 12:30 a.m. outside a convenience store along Indiana Avenue in Farrell, prompting an ongoing investigation by state police and county district attorney’s office detectives.
