The anti-open borders protest drew the attention of hundreds of passersby who honked with approval of the message and the banner eventually caught the attention of the NYPD. X users Johnny Tabacco and Viral News NYC shared the clip on social media: Staten Island residents hang a sign over an overpass in Staten Island that says ” CLOSE THE F ING

NYPD officers arrived shortly after and took the sign down .
