On Wednesday, Texas GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton took aim at an upcoming Texas House General Investigating Committee hearing and described it as a “desperate establishment plot to resurrect impeachment.” Paxton was impeached last year for allegedly misusing his political power, but each article of impeachment was dismissed.
Paxton said at the time that it was a “sham impeachment coordinated by the Biden Administration with liberal House Speaker Dade Phelan” and that the impeachment process had become weaponized.
