Buying Greenland is the type of thinking that helped Trump win in the first place

Buying Greenland is the type of apolitical thinking that helped Trump win in the first place

I’ll keep this very short, barely more than a Tweet. We’re not going to buy Greenland. It’s not that we wouldn’t, but Denmark is unwilling to part with the largest island in the world for some reason. Nevermind that the 56,000 inhabitants of Greenland aren’t happy with Copenhagen even if they’re semi-autonomous. Denmark has said they won’t even entertain the idea of selling off their huge chunk of ice.

Meanwhile in America, the thought he President would even consider it as a possibility has brought in mocking and ridicule from progressive mainstream media. But here’s the thing. This is the type of outside-the-box thinking that helped President Trump win election. Politicians don’t think in terms of buying land from other countries. Real estate developers do. Buying Denmark would be the biggest buy in centuries, literally. It’s a perfect idea to belong to President Trump.

If Americans would have wanted the swampy status quo with no new ideas, we would have elected Hillary Clinton. We voted for Trump because he doesn’t think like a politician even if he knows how to handle them well.

There are two beneficiaries to gun control, and you are I aren’t among them

There are two beneficiaries to gun control and you are I arent among them

Gun control is all over the news as just about every Democrat and a growing number of Republican lawmakers are leaning towards some action that will “do something” about mass shootings in America. It’s so clearly an emotion-driven issue, as can be seen by the simple fact that gun control doesn’t work to stop gun violence. But just because gun control doesn’t make us safer doesn’t mean there aren’t people who will benefit from it once enacted.

The first is obvious. Criminals are clear beneficiaries of gun control because they have no intention of abiding by it. Their victims and potential victims, on the other had, are likely going to be compelled to undergo background checks, sign up for gun registries, or have their firearms confiscated in some “buyback” program. Gun control is the best news criminals have had since criminal justice reform.

The second is debatable, not because it isn’t unambiguously true but because these particular beneficiaries pretend they aren’t gaining from it. This is, of course, a lie. Politicians gain greatly from gun control. Not all of them do because not all of them are anti-American radical progressives who envision a nation that bows to socialism and the authoritarian control over our lives by a nanny state. But even those who are not radical progressives get the benefit of applause from the masses who have been indoctrinated into he belief guns are the problem, not criminals or the mentally ill.

When gun control comes around, and it almost certainly will, many Americans will cheer. This will be the same type of enthusiasm many happy sheep experience when they’re being taken to a brand new location. They never know until it’s too late they’re being led to the slaughter. Criminals will be cheering as their victims will be disarmed by laws that criminals, by their nature of living a life of crime, have no intention of obeying. Leftist politicians will cheer because they’ll be one step closer to the oppression they have planned through their socialist ideology.

Republican lawmakers who support gun control will cheer for a while until they realize the enthusiasm they once had from their base evaporated as quickly as our 2nd Amendment rights did when they decided to back gun control. By the time they try to spin it as a necessary evil or whatever other excuse they try to make, it will be too late for them. We will have already moved on to vote for lawmakers who are not willing to break their oath to defend the Constitution.

Criminals love gun control. Authoritarian politicians do, too. If you’re not a gun-toting felon or Marxist politician, then you will not benefit at all from gun control. In fact, its enactment in any form will make you less safe even if you don’t own a gun.

Why are we losing to the SJWs?

Why are we losing to the SJWs

We are losing the war right now to the SJWs. There is a remnant of believers still here willing to take a stand, but we are losing. The Cultural Marxists are taking over the church. They’ve infiltrated our very own churches to the point to where they have a firm hold of influence that’s not going to be easy to shake.

One of the reasons why this has happened is because the church, as a whole, has become indifferent to false teaching. The mentality that we need to be tolerant of everybody and their ideas has softened the church to the point where nobody bats an eye when someone like John Piper breaches his heretical Final Salvation gospel. His false teaching is tolerated because we, as the church, accept him… thus, we accept all of his beliefs because of who he is. This is a problem, and the enemy has used it to their advantage.

We have this celebrity mindset within the church where we accept a particular teaching simply because a famous pastor says it’s true. It could be completely off or 100% true, and the church will believe it either way. That’s a serious problem. Discernment has gone out the window.

What we have to remember is that we can’t base our theological beliefs on anyone, including our favorite pastor…. Including our own pastor. We can use them as a springboard for our own study and to help us to understand particular passages, but we need to always be like the Bereans, comparing everything we hear with Scripture.

Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

-Acts 17:11

If we can be Bereans, that will go a long way in this battle.

The other reason why we are losing is because many within the church are following a pastor instead of God. This allows the enemy to use its strategy of celebrity influence over the church to usher in false doctrines influencing an unsuspecting group of people. Paul warned us that we need to stop being followers of individual leaders:

For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

-1 Corinthians 3:4-9

Your favorite pastor is simply being used for God’s purposes. However, he’s not the one that we should be worshiping or glorifying… that’s supposed to be reserved for God and God alone!

A common response to those who criticize celebrity pastors is that the person doing the critique is harming the kingdom of God because that person is so important to God’s plans. To me, that is questioning God’s sovereignty and saying that God’s plans can be thwarted by us. Remember, God is sovereign and in control. Our theology should make us have a low view of ourselves and a high view of God. If you believe that disagreeing with a particular pastor is harming the kingdom of God instead of asking whether the critique is valid or not, that’s a part of the problem.

We should be okay when people disagree with us. We should welcome it. We should encourage it.

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

-Proverbs 27:17

Engage in the debate. Pastors, welcome criticism of your beliefs. Constantly reevaluate what you are teaching. When someone criticizes you, go to Scripture and see if their critique is valid. If it is, change your ways. If it’s not, point the critic back to Scripture. But either way, it’s a good thing!

Ladies and Gentlemen… please don’t try to protect a celebrity pastor from all criticism. When you do that, you are actually doing more harm than good. The debate and conversation over ideas is what we need right now, but the Evangelical Elite have done an amazing job shutting down the public conversation. This allows them to not define their terms and clearly explain the general principles that they believe support their teachings.

This is dangerous when it comes to Social Justice. The SJWs are not having to defend their beliefs, they just continually spout them off with almost no pushback. We need that to change.

There’s one other reason why I believe that we are losing the war right now, and I’ll address that in my next article. If we can fix these issues, we can have a chance at Reforming the church back to Biblical Christianity.

Participate in the conversation. Join in the debate. It’s how this war is going to be fought. It’s going to be a long fight, and it’s going to be difficult. But in the long run, it’s going to be worth it!

Red line in the Pacific

Red line in the Pacific

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY?

China is catering to Taiwan’s former clients in the Pacific Basin and Beijing is bringing its own chopsticks. This is far more than just the CCP’s One China Policy. This is a military maneuver to directly threaten America’s maritime superiority.

But, small island nations do not switch allegiances based upon military considerations. After all, they were just caught in the middle between two major powers during World War II. Now it’s a matter of whether the United States will supply their needs or if China will pander to them better.

Small countries of Oceania understand they have no military leverage of their own. Their value to the superpowers on the world stage is strictly a function of their strategic locations.

How many Americans today remember the heroics of John Fitzgerald Kennedy and PT-109 in the Solomon Islands? How many of us are familiar with the furious battles at Guadalcanal or at Tarawa?

In fact, where are those places? Guadalcanal is in the Solomon Islands. Tarawa is in the current day nation of Kiribati.

Both nations have just abandoned Taipei and staked their future on the Chinese dragon from the mainland of Asia. But why?

MILITARY?

No, these small Islands in Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia have no pretensions to being players on the world stage when it comes to military confrontations. They realize they are just going to be the battlegrounds where wars are waged by the megapowers.

IDEOLOGY?

So, then do you suppose it’s about capitalism vs communism? Are they siding with socialism over free market principles? This consideration, frankly, doesn’t even have a role in the recent decisions to align with China over Taiwan.

MONEY?

Bingo! That’s it! China basically just offered more stuff and more big bucks than their small island nemesis of Taiwan did or could. China not only has endless streams of funds but they have no democratic process for distributing it. Xi Jinping can give it to whomever he wishes and nobody who hopes to have a future dares say otherwise.

WHY KIRIBATI IS A RED LINE

Perhaps it’s a bit easier logistically to draw a line in the sand with your foot than it is to put a marker on the deep blue sea. But China absolutely must not be allowed to re-establish their satellite tracking station on Tarawa which was dismantled after Kiribati went with Taiwan in 2003.

Look for China to begin construction before politicians in Washington, DC even have time to realize what has happened. Ergo, this article to try to help us get out ahead of the game.

Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site on Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands is only 617 miles from Tarawa. In fact, RMI is one of the few remaining Taiwan partners at this time and they cannot be snatched away on our watch.

Taiwan still has relations with Tuvalu, Nauru and Palau. Each is important strategically in its own way. But right now the United States needs to concentrate its resources on a potential crisis in Kiribati.

Kiribati straddles both the equator and the International Date Line. Therefore, it is the only country in the world that is in all four hemispheres. Kiritimati Island is due south of Honolulu. Because of the International Date Line, it is exactly 24 hours time difference.

Probably 99% of Americans have never heard of Kiribati. The voice recognition software I’m using cannot even recognize that if I enunciate it properly. The country is pronounced as Kiribas. The island South of Hawaii is Christmas Island. The national capital of Betio sounds like Beso.

SO WHO NEEDS TO DO WHAT NOW?

Unfortunately, the US of A is typically at least a day late and a dollar short. China has poached a very strategic island nation away from our allies in Taiwan, which was only willing to sell them a Boeing 737 which China donated outright.

My compliments to Dr. Rieko Hayakawa, an expert in Pacific geopolitics with a long history of providing substantive assistance to small island nations. She is ensuring that the government of Japan is fully aware of the ramifications of this Chinese power play in the Pacific.

It would help if U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would get his pompous a** and over-inflated ego on the next flight to the overcrowded little tropical island of Tarawa. Indo-Pacific Command plus the U.S. Coast Guard could also make some site visits there with infrastructure enhancement propositions in their pockets or briefcases.

Like I said earlier, the question is what have you done for me lately?

In the meantime, relations with the Marshall Islands need to be kept on a solid basis because we absolutely cannot afford their defection to China. Whatever we can do to bolster Taiwan’s relationship around the world will also be in our own self-interest as it counters Chinese hegemony.

JFK & DJT

Besides being a war hero in the Solomon Islands, our 35th president stared down Russian Dictator Nikita Khrushchev to keep missiles out of Cuba. Now our 45th president may get the chance to do something likewise with Chinese Dictator Xi Jinping to prevent their People’s Liberation Army from militarizing our Pacific neighborhood.

It’s not a matter of putting the pedal to the metal. It’s all about the mettle in the man in the White House. Sorry you don’t still have John Bolton there to give you expert advice but this will be a make-or-break for your next National Security Advisor and possibly for your own administration.

Even many of the Democrats don’t want to go soft on China. This is really not the time or place for political posturing by anyone. From Arctic to Antarctic, from Pacific to Atlantic, China poses an existential threat.

What you either do or fail to do on Tarawa will send a message straight to Beijing. There will be no satellite tracking station permitted in Kiribati to spy on us at Kwajalein. Period. End of statement.
