What is the Divine Council?

Published

on

One of the least discussed, most misunderstood component of the Biblical story is the Divine Council. Many churches generally ignore it or skim over it in their teachings, but it plays a major role in our lives. It’s not something that should be ignored.

So, what is the Divine Council? It’s often referred to as the “Heavenly Host” and refers to the spiritual beings by God’s side assisting in the affairs of this world and the world on the other side of the veil. That’s a lot to take in, I know. But if we scan through the Old and New Testaments, we’ll see multiple occasions of references to the Divine Council and the Heavenly Host, as the video above details. We also see the other side of the equation, the principalities and powers of this world, representing those fallen from the Divine Council who now reign over us today.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

It’s important to understand the forces around us and in Heaven. Dismissing it is a mistake made by many churches. We need to know how the world operates, and taking away the supremacy of the divine gives us an incomplete picture.
