CNN’s extreme anti-conservative bias in two headlines

CNNs extreme anti-conservative bias in two headlines

As our EIC discussed in the past, headlines can be used to promote propaganda even if the body of the article isn’t necessarily as biased as the headline. This phenomenon is very clear with CNN, who will use language to paint leftist ideas as credible while casting doubt on their conservative counterparts.

For example:

As Campus Reform news editor Jon Street noted, the way CNN handled the initial Jussie Smollett report versus how they handled a recent report of an attack on a conservative at Berkeley couldn’t be more different. In the Smollett instance, they didn’t indicate that the attack was alleged even though there was no evidence that it occurred and they jumped straight to questions of it being a hate crime. In the Berkeley attack, they label it as “alleged” even though there are several videos corroborating the report and at no time did they call this hate crime a hate crime.

If the political ideologies of those involved in each incident were reversed, the headlines would have been much different. That’s because CNN is unabashedly aligned with the left, hateful towards conservatives, and supportive of anyone who espouses a leftist ideology. This can only be disputed by those with an agenda to pretend like CNN is unbiased. For everyone else, the bias is clear.

At NOQ Report, we’re biased. We admit it. We even explain why this is the case.

CNN pretends to be unbiased. Their reporters say they’re on the side of truth, but crystal clear evidence to the contrary, like the evidence on display here, will not deter them from perpetuating their false narrative.

Anti-Semite Tom Wright-Piersanti is the true heart of the NY Times

Anti-Semite Tom Wright-Piersanti is the true heart of the NY Times

Progressive journalism is a double-standard wrapped in hypocrisy and served on a plate with no self-awareness. That’s why revelations that NY Times senior staff editor Tom Wright-Piersanti posted several racist and anti-Semitic Tweets in the past came as absolutely no surprise to me when Breitbart broke the story this morning.

The Tweets insulted Jews, Native-Americans, and Hispanics and date back as far as 2009. But even as he scrambles to remove official record of his feelings, the remnant of them remain. Some have grabbed screenshots. We’ll go ahead and post the text from some of his Tweets so the words remain in text-form indefinitely.

I think I just heard him say “Hoes, Hoes, Hoes! Merry Cripmas!” Does anyone know who it could be???

http://bit.ly/QCGfF WEIRD. This woman’s Spanish jumps back and forth between a pleasant Mexican “distinción” and a halting Spanish “ceceo.”

Is Wright-Piersanti a unique case? No. Progressive journalists such as the vast majority on staff at the NY Times have been shielded from scrutiny. It’s not that anyone is actively trying to cover up for the racism or anti-America sentiment that flows freely in newsrooms across the country. It’s that the people who normally engage in investigating people’s history on public sites like social media are searching for conservatives to bash. This is a leftist technique, one that more conservatives should adopt as the cries of “Republicans are racists” continue to be bellowed out by mainstream media.

The saddest part is the NY Times is unlikely to act and leftist media is unlikely to report on this much. If these Tweets were posted by someone at Breitbart or One America News, it would be the top story in the news cycle and every Tweet supporting President Trump by the journalist would be used as evidence for the racism narrative the left is trying to paint about the right. But Wright-Piersanti is not a Trump supporter and neither is the NY Times.

Tom Wright-Piersanti isn’t a one-off case. He’s indicative of the hypocrisy that’s rampant throughout mainstream media as they seek evidence that conservatives are racist while ignoring the racists in the mirror.

‘Breastfeeding’ illegal alien Maria Domingo-Garcia charged with identity fraud

Breastfeeding illegal alien Maria Domingo-Garcia charged with identity fraud

An illegal immigrant arrested in an early August ICE raid made national news this week when her lawyers claimed she was nursing mother who needed to breastfeed her 4-month-old daughter. But her claims have been contested by ICE as medical examinations show she is not lactating and she answered “no” when initially asked if she was breastfeeding. The narrative was created after the fact, according to ICE, and progressive legacy media pounced on it.

But Maria Domingo-Garcia’s situation is getting worse. She has now been charged with identity fraud stemming from willfully using someone else’s social security number to create a false identity. She is now in the custody of U.S. Marshals while awaiting federal trial.

Legacy media coverage of this story has been shoddy at best. They’re heavily reporting the story from the lawyers for Domingo-Garcia and reporting it as rock-solid evidence. But they’re splashing cold water on statements from Homeland Security that show all indicators point to Domingo-Garcia lying in order to gain her freedom. Considering she (1) Entered the country illegally to begin with, (2) Lied about her identity to illegally acquire documents that allowed her to work, and (3) Didn’t make her claims about breastfeeding until long after she was apprehended, it’s a safer bet that she’s lying, not ICE.

This is all about building a pro-open-borders narrative, and it’s the reason NOQ Report needs help in fighting that narrative. Donations are used to provide and promote truthful pro-American content to the masses. We appreciate every dollar we receive.

As Domingo-Garcia’s lawyers press their story, her family has become the focus of media reports. It tugs on the heartstrings that this mother-of-three is separated from her husband and children, and it’s good that the community and their church have stepped up to help them. But the law is the law, and when you break the law, there are consequences for everyone involved. If identity fraud can be dismissed because the alleged criminal has a family, the law is meaningless.

As the saying goes, if you do the crime, you do the time. If Domingo-Garcia is found guilty of identity fraud, progressive media and Democrats will cry foul because of her family. Would they do the same for an American citizen committing identity fraud?

Big Facebook announcement falls flat in under 24 hours

Facebook's big announcement falls flat in 24 hours

Yesterday, Facebook was very proud to announce the results of a year-long review by former Senator Jon Kyl. The purpose of the review was to better understand the accusations of political bias, mostly from Conservatives, against the platform. According to Kyl’s editorial in the Wall Street Journal, the concerns of those he interviewed fell into six broad categories.

  • Bias is baked into Facebook’s algorithms and they should not be in the business of separating fact from fiction
  • That the platform’s community standards were constantly evolving and objections to the category “hate speech”
  • Bias in the employees charged with enforcing the rules and the appeals process for smaller organizations
  • Requiring advertisers to register as political organizations to run ads with a policy focus
  • The drawn-out ad approval process due to the stringent ad policies
  • Lack of viewpoint diversity at the company

In the announcement, there were several things Facebook planned to address which included how they handled political ads and the creation of an oversight board for how they handled the appeals of some high profile content removal decisions.

The announcement was supposed to ease tensions between the social media company and users on the political right. However, rather than getting out of the business of fact-checking content, the company committed to explaining newsfeed rankings. These algorithms and “fact checks” have already negatively impacted several Conservative sites. Not sure an explanation fixes that problem. They will also now tell you when they limit the distribution of a post because their “fact-checkers” give it a false rating. Again, why not just stop?

Probably because they are serving two masters in this fight. Facebook consented to a series of civil rights audits from a very left-leaning assessor. Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg released the commitments from that process on June 30, 2019. One action:

We’re taking steps to address this, including a US pilot program where some of the people who review content on Facebook only focus on hate speech instead of a range of content that can include bullying, nudity, and misrepresentation. We believe allowing reviewers to specialize only in hate speech could help them further build the expertise that may lead to increased accuracy over time.

Balancing the commitments made to both groups will be challenging to say the least. And within 24 hours of the announcement of what they would do to address Kyl’s assessment two high profile content decisions were made.

This morning, news hit that an ad from Women for Trump was removed. I confirmed this with one of the board members. Supposedly, because it assumed the gender of the women in the picture.

Can you say peak ridiculousness? Perhaps the assessment they received from Senator Kyl didn’t mention that many people on the right, as well as the vast majority Americans, assume the gender of almost everyone they see. I am also wondering how many posts Forbes Women and Women for Women International have had removed. Since they “assume the gender” of the person pictured on nearly every post.

The other content decision was not allowing the website started by popular Trump-supporting meme maker, Carpe Donktum to work.

Now we all know the left can’t meme, but the right has some pretty good meme artists. And anyone who has spent any time on social media is aware of what a meme is. Satirical short videos or images that everyone knows are a creation, not news or a depiction of factual events. The website was even called “Meme World”. Saying satirical content violates their “Community Standards” is about as stupid as Snopes fact-checking the Babylon Bee. Or just an admission that having a sense of humor is not allowed on Facebook.

Until Facebook decides to employ a good faith approach to known creators, organizations, and campaigns, rather than allowing fringe left-wing zealots to flag content with abandon, nothing will change. Just because Facebook recognizes dozens of genders doesn’t mean most Americans do. Yet activists can use a ridiculous rule based on fringe political ideology to get a perfectly valid political ad pulled.

One that was shared by the President’s official Facebook account. Not the best kick off for a grand announcement about addressing bias. Facepalm Facebook.
