New York City refuses to work with federal law enforcement agencies to hold illegal immigrants on detainers. It is a sanctuary city, which means when violent criminals are to be held for ICE, they are instead released back into the population to prevent them from getting deported.
Sunday, MS-13 gang member Ramiro Gutierrez, 26, took advantage of his sanctuary city by allegedly murdering a man in broad daylight.
The Salvadoran national allegedly murdered Abel Mosso, 20, a member of the rival 18th Street Gang. They were fighting just outside of a train in Queens when gun shots rang out. Mosso was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was arrested in December on multiple charges and should have been held for ICE, but instead he was released on $2500 bond.
Ramiro Gutierrez, the MS-13 gang banger who blew a rival gang member's brains out on a NYC train platform is an illegal alien shielded by @BilldeBlasio's sanctuary city policy.
He was out on bail for a prior felony. NYC prevented ICE from deporting him.https://t.co/JyXXs62xDn

Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for crime.
It takes very deranged reasoning to surmise sanctuary cities will somehow keep people safer despite clear evidence that releasing criminal illegal immigrants back on the street instead of deporting them results in increased crime and more violence.
