I can see the headlines now. “As nation pleads for unity, President criticizes Dodgers’ manager.”
In the past, Presidents have had opinions about sports. They generally root for the hometown team, whether in the DC area or from their old stomping grounds. It’s never a big deal. That was before Twitter. That was before President Donald Trump.
Social media gives the President a way to express himself. So, he does.
Watching the Dodgers/Red Sox final innings. It is amazing how a manager takes out a pitcher who is loose & dominating through almost 7 innings, Rich Hill of Dodgers, and brings in nervous reliever(s) who get shellacked. 4 run lead gone. Managers do it all the time, big mistake!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 28, 2018
Usually his supporters and detractors are opposite each other in perspective. With the Dodgers’ talk, his detractors will go unhinged. His supporters won’t care one bit… unless they’re Dodgers fans.
