Marsha Blackburn on the state of the net

Tennessee Senate candidate Marsha Blackburn has been a proponent of internet freedom since before it became a hot topic. She pushed for recognition of the potential problems that can arise if progressives get their way with a heavily regulated internet.

Seven years ago, when many Republicans were learning how to set up a Twitter account, Blackburn was preparing conservatives for the fight they had coming. Our online rights were going to get attacked by the left and the Obama administration was well on its way towards making their vision of net neutrality a reality.

One particular moment of a speech she gave in 2011 stands out:

Conservatives must not let big government, regulation, or taxation limit the long term potential of the Creative Economy, as it has already done with the industrial sector.

Regulation hampers innovation. Taxation stunts growth. Big government suffocates all. These premises don’t just align in the real world. In the digital world, they are even more prevalent. Marsha Blackburn understands this. Make her a Senator, Tennessee.

Van Jones on CNN describes the left's reaction to the Mueller report

For the last 22-months, a day hasn’t gone by in which CNN didn’t mention Robert Mueller’s investigation with a spin of hope for their leftist audience that any moment, the hammer would drop and Mueller would be knocking on the White House door with handcuffs in hand. Now that Attorney General William Barr has released a summary of the Mueller report, many in mainstream media are trying to reconcile what they now know with what they’ve thought they knew for nearly two years.

Many are saying, “wait for the full report.” Others are saying Mueller – their hero for the duration – was controlled or incompetent or paid off or threatened… or something. Others are looking to SDNY as the next great Trump-buster. CNN’s Van Jones expressed the left’s general feelings in one sentence.

When we break it all down, it just comes down to sadness. The left is sad the President didn’t collude with the Russians. It was their best hope to prove their unyielding support for Hillary Clinton wasn’t wasted. Now, they’re lost.

Mike Lee describes the American Conservative Movement in a nutshell

Mike Lee describes the American Conservative Movement in a nutshell

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) is considered by many to be one of the most consistent conservatives in DC. Some conservatives have been miffed when he supports the Presidents too much as well as his embrace of some left-leaning proposals. Meanwhile, some of the President’s most dedicated supporters have attacked Lee’s conservatism when he goes against the President.

Regardless of one’s perspective on the Senator, it’s hard to argue against this quote, which embodies a primary tenet of limited-government federalism and proper Constitutional conservatism.

“We ought to have more people who believe in constitutionally limited government. We have to have more people come to Congress with that mindset. I think we can make this a better place, if, when elections happen, we support candidates who share that philosophy.”

He may not have been speaking directly about the American Conservative Movement, but it’s definitely among our highest goals. Limited government is usually just campaign rhetoric for Republicans in DC. When the time comes to act in a way that actually limits government, very few are willing to put their power behind it. Lee is an exception. He usually acts in favor of removing powers, whether within the executive branch or even within his own legislative branch. He’s even spoken against judicial overreach, which is ironic since his name has been mentioned as a possible Supreme Court Justice.

Less government at all levels but particularly in Washington DC is imperative if America is going to reverse the trend of expanded powers across the board. The individual is the true seat of power. At least we’re supposed to be.

Lila Rose reveals the heinous statistics about Down Syndrome abortions

Yesterday was World Down Syndrome Day, and while many celebrated the wonderful successes and challenges overcome by those with Down Syndrome as well as their families, many in the pro-life movement highlighted a disturbing trend. With our ability to identify Down Syndrome from the womb, aborting babies with the condition has become so commonplace, the Down Syndrome population is non-existent in some countries.

Live Action founder Lila Rose took to Twitter to share some of these depressing statistics, including the horrible increased frequency in which it now happens in the United States. Anyone who knows someone with Down Syndrome must acknowledge their value and the fact that their lives should not be snuffed out because the scientific community says it’s a good thing.

Every life is a gift. Every single one of them. The “humane” murder of preborn babies because of their condition is one of the most mystifying stances of the “progressive” left.
