PepsiCo is leading the way for American corporations who are looking to be more environmentally responsible. Whether one believes in man-made climate change or not, the thought of no emissions coming from semi-trucks should be appealing.
This isn’t just a climate-friendly move by PepsiCo and others who are jumping on the Tesla bandwagon. It’s a smart long-term fiscal move. Tesla claims diesel semis are 20% more expensive to drive and maintain.
PepsiCo increased the total orders so far by 2/3rd, joining Anheuser-Busch, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. and Sysco Corp as early adopters.
