Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA), the newly elected chair of the Republican Study Committee, isn’t busy figuring out how to block initiatives put forth by the Democratically controlled Congress. Instead, he’s working to create a playbook for the GOP to follow if they regain the majority in 2020 as well as a path to make that happen.
“RSC was founded in 1973,” Johnson said to OAN’s John Hines. “The idea was it would play dual roles. It would be the conscience, so to speak, of conservatism and the Republican Party in the Congress, but also to be the intellectual arsenal of our conservative ideals and principles.”
While it gets less attention than the House Freedom Caucus, it’s the largest Republican caucus in the House. This makes Johnson’s plans extremely important if the GOP has any chance of regaining control of the chamber.
He continued, “We see the next two years as what could be our finest moment, not to downshift at all but rather to really advance more than we ever have.”
His roadmap was only discussed in principles rather than with specifics, it can be assumed their focus is going to be on regaining suburban voters they lost in 2018 while continuing to expand their reach in Hispanic and Asian communities.
Covid variant BA.5 is spreading. It appears milder but much more contagious and evades natural immunity. Best to boost your immune system with new Z-Dtox and Z-Stack nutraceuticals from our dear friend, the late Dr. Vladimir Zelenko.
