Last Updated on July 16, 2023 YouTube has removed the American flag from its list of live chat emojis but has left the gay and trans pride flags in place, even offering those flags to users in place of the American flag.
Independent journalist and “Matta of Fact” show host Ryan Matta reported on the striking of the American flag from YouTube in a tweet, attaching a screenshot showing that only the rainbow gay pride flag and the blue-on-pink-on-white trans flag remain.
“@YouTube has removed the American Flag from the list of emojis in the live chat,” Matta wrote in the tweet .
