Colombian President Gustavo Petro has urged all illegal aliens residing in the United States to return home.
In a post on the X platform, Petro promised all those who leave the U.S. “productive loans” that he said will help return the country to prosperity.
He wrote:
Le solicito a las colombianas y colombianos sin documentos en EEUU dejar sus trabajos de inmediato en ese país y retornar a Colombia lo más pronto posible
La riqueza la produce solo el pueblo trabajador.
El Departamento de Prosperidad Social, DPS, buscará entregar créditos…

The suggestion comes less than a week after he was forced into a humiliating U-turn by Donald Trump.
