Trump Vows to Slash US Energy Costs in Half by Making America Energy Independent Again

At a rally on Wednesday, Donald Trump announced that he would commit to slashing the price of energy in half if he is elected in the 2024 election. Trump made the comments at a North Carolina rally after inflation has increased the price of gas and other sources of energy for Americans during the Biden-Harris administration.

“I am announcing today that, under my leadership, the US will commit to the ambitious goal of slashing energy and electricity prices by half — at least. Half!” Trump told the audience.

“We intend to slash prices in half within 12 months, at a maximum 18 months,” Trump said, adding that if the goal is not reached, costs would still come down by “a lot.”

“We think that your energy bills will be down by 50 to 70 percent,” Trump added in the rally speech. “How good would that be for a thing called inflation?” In April, it was revealed that gas prices had risen by 50 percent since President Joe Biden took office, according to Fox Business. Biden has continually tried to counteract this by selling off oil in the emergency reserves for the country in an attempt to bring down prices. […]
