The Gulf Coast states have been hit hard by severe weather over the past 24 hours. More than a foot of rain flooded a large swath of downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter. Tornadoes slammed across South Georgia and northern Florida. One social media post from Gabrielle restaurant showed a few inches of floodwater inside of the business with diners who were already inside continuing to finish their meal.
