Police in Fort Worth have announced they will not be enforcing a state Senate bill allowing Texas law enforcement agencies to arrest illegal immigrants.
In an announcement Monday, Fort Worth Police Department Chief Neil Noakes declared immigration enforcement should be left up to state and federal authorities, adding illegal aliens are representative of the city’s “vibrant growth…and the diversity of our communities.” It is the mission of the Fort Worth Police Department to serve every member of our community, and our day-to-day commitment to that mission will not change with the passage of Senate Bill 4.
