Senate Republicans are reportedly warming to the idea that 45th President Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for in 2024 and are now maneuvering to be close should Trump recapture the White House.
Following a powerful endorsement from Sen. Steve Daines, the National Republican Senatorial Committee Chair, The Hill reports that one Republican senator anonymously confirmed that the legislators are now operating on the assumption that Trump will win the Republican Party’s nomination in 2024. That Republican told the outlet that he personally believes Trump is “inevitable”.
“I just think that his nomination is inevitable. I really do. He’s going to be the nominee,” said one senator who The Hill reports spoke under the condition of anonymity. “I’d be stunned if he’s not.”
