On Thursday, problematic posts from the Department of the Interior senior spokesman Tyler Cherry resurfaced on X while requests for comments from the Biden Administration went unanswered.
According to Fox News , posts from Cherry’s past include posts about the US being a racist country, calling police officers a “direct evolution of slave patrols,” along with promoting the “Russiagate” scandal in multiple posts.
In one post from April 2015, after the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody, Cherry Wrote, “Praying for #Baltimore, but praying even harder for an end to a capitalistic police state motivated by explicit and implicit racial biases.” In another from January 2015, he wrote, “Police = slave patrols. Voter ID =poll taxes. #NAACPBombing = KKK bombings. Neither slavery nor Jim Crow WERE THAT LONG AGO.
