A poll conducted on May 3rd shows former President Donald Trump with a seven point lead over Joe Biden. The ABC/Washington Post poll had Trump at 49 percent and Biden sitting at 42 percent.
When asked who did a better job handling the economy as president, 53 percent said Trump and 36 percent said Biden. 58 percent of those who lean Democrat said they hope that the party nominates someone other than Biden to run. This is up from 52 percent from March.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis holds a similar lead over President Biden, with DeSantis at 48 percent and Biden at 41 percent.
