‘He Is Not Hitler’: Melania Trump Defends Husband, Supporters Against Latest Round of Democrat Attacks

In an appearance on Fox & Friends Tuesday, Melania Trump said her husband, GOP contender and former President Donald Trump, is not a twenty-first century version of German dictator Adolf Hitler. “It is terrible,” she said of the persistent attacks by Democrats and partisan pundits. “He is not Hitler and his supporters stand behind him because they want to see the country be successful. We see what kind of support he has.”

Democratic talking points, picked up by a legacy and left-leaning news outlets, have said outright that the Republican presidential nominee’s Madison Square Garden rally was akin to a 1939 event hosted by the pro-Nazi German-American Bund.


The comparison to Hitler followed accusations from the Harris campaign and its surrogates that Trump is an authoritarian. They used the words of Trump’s former White House chief of staff John Kelly, who Trump fired, that the former president “falls into the general definition of fascist, for sure” and also claimed that the former president had said Hitler accomplished some “good things.” Following the release of that interview, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also said that President Joe Biden believes Trump is a fascist.

Trump has denied the comparison, telling a rally at Georgia Tech Monday night, “I’m not a Nazi. I’m the opposite of a Nazi,” the Daily Mail noted.

Even Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams said, “My answer is no,” when asked if he thought the former president was a fascist. […]
