Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday evening blamed “mis- and disinformation” for the perceptions of a sluggish response by the administration to Hurricane Helene.
“So, there has been a lot of mis- and disinformation about what we have been doing over the last two weeks and what we are going to do going forward,” Harris insisted at a Univision town hall, when pressed on claims she and President Joe Biden “didn’t do enough.”
“And I have to stress that this is not a time for people to play politics,” she went on, asserting that she never concerned herself with the partisan affiliation of victims while a prosecutor.
“And sadly, we have seen over the last two weeks, since Hurricane Helene, and now in the immediate aftermath of Milton, where people are playing political games, suggesting that that resources and support is only going to certain people based on a political agenda.
