California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) canceled appearances scheduled for Monday shortly after President Biden announced he was exiting the 2024 presidential race. This also comes as Kamala Harris has launched her campaign for president. The governor was scheduled to appear at the US Ninth Circuit judicial conference in Sacramento on Monday.
Event organizers told KCRA News that Newsom canceled his appearance but did not specify further.
KCRA reporter Ashley Zavala wrote on X that there was “no reason provided by organizers of the event” and that the network was waiting for comment from Newsom’s Office.
