In a dramatic development on Capitol Hill, more Republican lawmakers are echoing the calls from Sen. Ted Cruz , R-Texas, for impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The House lawmakers accuse Garland of alleged political interference in the criminal probe of Hunter Biden , son of President Joe Biden , and assert that Garland may have committed multiple felonies.
“What’s becoming crystal clear is that the political brass at DOJ stonewalled & slow walked this investigation into Hunter,” said Rep. Byron Donalds , R-Fla., on Friday. “If the purpose of this obstruction was to protect Joe, these are serious allegations which in my view lead to impeachment proceedings of Garland & POTUS.”
