A deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was seriously injured after being run over by a suspect during a traffic stop early Friday morning. The incident occurred at little after midnight on Bearss Avenue near Nebraska Avenue when the deputy attempted to pull over a black BMW.
The suspect evaded the initial stop, and 20 minutes later, at 12:25 a.m., the deputy, identified as Kalin Hall, 33, tried to stop the vehicle again on Plantation Oaks Drive. As Deputy Hall approached the BMW, the suspect ran over him, causing a fractured leg. Bodycam footage captured the moment when the suspect fled the scene after striking Deputy Hall.
Emergency medical services were called, and Deputy Hall was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, and updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. […]
