On December 1, a federal appeals court ruled that former president Donald Trump is not immune to claims over the breach of the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021. The court decided that President Trump has not demonstrated presidential immunity from litigation relating to his activities leading up to and on January 6 th , 2018.
The decision was primarily based on the judgment that President Trump’s reelection campaign was not an official presidential fact and did not come under presidential protections.
