When news broke on Saturday that members of Iranian-backed Palestinian terrorist group Hamas had indiscriminately massacred Israeli civilians, many took to social media to voice their opinion. Among them was Derron Borders, the diversity and inclusion director at Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management. Instead of condemning the attacks, however, he shared a post that referred to Hamas’ actions as ” resistance .”
Borders was widely criticized over his actions, and has since released a statement claiming that he does not, in fact, support Hamas.
Screenshots obtained by the New York Post reveal that the post Borders shared was from an account called “decolonizethisplace.” As of Wednesday, the original post has been liked nearly 40,000 times.
