Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie entered the 2024 Republican primary on Tuesday, pitting him once again against former President Donald Trump.
During his discussion with town hall attendees, Christie emphasized the need for a leader to admit their shortcomings and mistakes, saying “[n]ot only am I not the perfect candidate. I am far from the perfect person.”
“We’re no better and no worse than any of you. We are you,” he said of political leaders.
Christie made the announcement at a small venue in New Hampshire, a key primary battleground state.
