Secret Service (USSS) Director Kimberly Cheatle said that she doesn’t know how many times the agency turned down the Trump campaign’s requests for more security. This comes after the agency spokesman admitted that the Trump camp had been denied previous requests leading up to the assassination attempt.
Cheatle would not directly answer how many USSS agents were there that day as well as a myriad of other questions. When asked by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) repeatedly about “how many times” the USSS had denied requests from the Trump campaign she could not give a straight answer.
Cheatle repeatedly dodged the question and said that she “did not know the specifics” on the different instances of the USSS denying requests for additional security for the Trump campaign.
