A Winfield, Illinois man has been charged with two felony counts of threatening a public official after he sent a letter to a conservative school board candidate which told her to “watch your back.”
According to the Daily Herald , 55-year-old Christopher Strong, of Winfield, allegedly sent a handwritten letter to Amanda “Amy” Erkenswick on March 31, during the time she was a candidate for the Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 school board.
“Book-burning evangelical c*nt watch your back, psycho,” the letter, posted to Facebook by Parents for CUSD 200 Children, stated.Strong was arrested on Wednesday, with the charges being filed on August 3. As of Friday morning, Strong was being held at DuPage County Jail on $50,000 bail.According to the outlet, Strong would need to post $5,000 bond to be freed pretrial and would be ordered not to contact Erkenswick.
