U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken conceded that Ukraine will collapse without substantial U.S. aid during an interview with CNN on Sunday.
President Biden has called on congress to pass a massive, $100 billion foreign aid package that will include $60 billion for Ukraine, as well as $10 billion for Israel and a smaller amount for Taiwan. While House Republicans have passed separate foreign aid bills, including one for Israel, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has refused to allow a vote on Ukraine funding without significant assistance for the southern border.
Blinken was asked about the ongoing back-and-forth and what it means for the war in Ukraine by CNN’s Jake Tapper.
