New polling has revealed that Donald Trump’s support among black Americans has more than doubled since the 2020 election. According to a CNN average of polls, Trump’s support among black voters is 22 percent so far in the 2024 election cycle, up from 9 percent at this point during the 2020 cycle.
Biden’s support, on the other hand, has plummeted, going from 81 percent at this point in the 2020 election cycle to 69 percent in the 2024 election cycle. A CNN correspondent called the margin between the two candidates “historic” and potentially the “best performance for a Republican candidate among black voters” since the 1960s.
