The Biden administration plans to install artificial intelligence (AI) regulations that will center around “civil rights” and “equal opportunity” in order to combat “unlawful bias,” according to the FTC.
The plans were made public on Tuesday following the release of a joint statement between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, the US Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. “Today, the use of automated systems, including those sometimes marketed as “artificial intelligence” or “AI,” is becoming increasingly common in our daily lives.
