A company that manages real estate locations in Aurora, Colorado that Tren de Aragua gang members beat one of their worker to a pulp when that worker refused to let them stay in a vacant apartment unit. The company says that “several” properties have been taken over by the Venezuelan gang as some in the media have downplayed the significance of the issue.

The real estate company, based out of Brooklyn, New York, said that Tren de Aragua has effectively taken over multiple complexes by threatening employees and extorting the company, demanding a share of the rent if CBZ Management keeps control over the apartments, the New York Post reported.

Local police as well as the FBI have been asked to help stop the extortion operation by the gang, however the authorities have refused to work on the situation, the company said. “In an attempt to discredit this fact for political purposes and avoid governmental accountability, some have spread false information about our situation,” the company posted on X.

The company posted a thread to report on the circumstances, stating that they started managing several apartment complexes in 2019 around Aurora, Colorado. The company said that the properties were in bad shape when they were bought but then things picked up.

“Everything was progressing smoothly: property values were rising, and vacancy rates were dropping. It was a win-win for both the owners and the city of Aurora. Then, the gangs arrived,” the company said. […]
