Twitter boss Elon Musk was in Washington D.C. this week and held a secretive meeting with Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
The meeting has provoked speculation regarding what the two discussed.
While Musk acknowledged on Twitter that they met, little has been revealed about what they spoke about.
Musk tweeted that he met with both McCarthy and Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
“Just met with @SpeakerMcCarthy & @RepJeffries to discuss ensuring that this platform is fair to both parties,” Musk said.
McCarthy remained tight-lipped about the meeting when he spoke to reporters , however.The speaker said only that they were old friends and that Musk had come to offer his best wishes on McCarthy’s 58th birthday.Yet Musk indicated that the visit was all about business.According to Axios, Musk reportedly didn’t have a scheduled meeting with the Democrat and met him in passing in McCarthy’s office.Musk and McCarthy have been allies for some time.
