Editor’s Commentary: Texas is leading the way in the push for the most important tool states SHOULD possess: nullification. I say they SHOULD possess it because it’s never been properly used. In theory, the states formed the compact to empower the federal government and therefore should be the ultimate arbiters of laws that break the Constitution. It’s never been played out properly, but we may finally see it working if enough states push back against the Biden-Harris regime’s attacks on the 2nd Amendment.
In this article by Bob Unruh at WND, we learn that the GOP in Texas intends to oppose any future attacks against the 2nd Amendment by invoking nullification. If it comes to pass, there will be a massive fight over it in the courts and the Supreme Court will ultimately decide. I’m very hopeful this happens because for the first time in decades, we have a Supreme Court that might actually side with the states for once. Here are the details from Bob Unruh:
Republicans in Texas have a message for Joe Biden in response to his demands that many weapons be banned.
“Come and take it.”
For those who are not familiar with Texas history, a report in the Center Square adds some detail:
“The phrase is known to Texans as the rallying cry that sparked the Texas Revolution on Oct. 2, 1835, in Gonzalez, Texas. The Mexican Army attempted to take a small cannon that was largely ineffective but used as a scare tactic to thwart Comanche raids and Texans weren’t giving it up without a fight. Their fight ultimately ended in an 18-minute battle in San Jacinto on April 21, 1836.”
The newest response from the Texas party is to Biden’s continuing vows to ban so-called “assault rifles.”
He recently said, on social media, “It’s time we ban assault weapons in this country.”
To which the party says, “Come and Take It.”
The Texas legislature just recently passed a permitless carry bill, and Gov. Greg Abbott promptly signed it. The Texas GOP’s platform also suggests that the state legislature and Congress to repeal and/or nullify the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Gun Control Act of 1968.

The report explained the party also passed unrestricted Constitutional Carry by amending the Texas Constitution; supports nullifying any gun laws that violate the Second Amendment or rights of due process; supports national reciprocity for gun ownership rights; supports recognizing the right of License to Carry holders to carry anywhere that off-duty or retired law enforcement can carry, among other measures.
WND reported only a day earlier that Biden repeatedly has claimed that AR-15 rifles need to be banned in America – part of his gun control agenda – because “the bullet out of an AR-15 travels five times as rapidly as a bullet shot out of any other gun.”
But it turns out that like his wild and false claim that certain weapons were banned from private ownership at the ratification of the Second Amendment, he’s wrong about this too. A Field & Stream study on the “Five Fastest Rifle Cartridges,” in fact, listed five products.
They include the .220 Swift, a 40-grain round that moves at about 4,300 feet per second. For the AR bullet to be five times faster, it would have to travel four miles – in a second. At the rate of 240 miles in a minute. More than 14,000 miles an hour.
Also ranked was the .257 Weatherby Magnum, which moves at about 3,700 fps, the .30/378 Weatherby, at about 3,400 fps, the .224 Clark, at about 3,500 fps, and the .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer, and about 4,600 fps.
“AR-15 rounds move at approximately 2,700-3,100 fps. Even handgun bullets can reportedly reach around 2,000 fps (though that is rare),” reported legal commentator Jonathan Turley in an article about Biden’s inaccuracies.
He explained, “Conservative and gun rights publications have repeatedly shot down that claim but it does not seem to have any impact. As with Biden’s false claim that certain weapons were banned from private ownership at the ratification of the Second Amendment, the president continues to make the same false claim on velocity…”
The column pointed out that “even the Washington Post has called Biden’s repeated velocity claim ‘bungled’ and factually incorrect,” and the AR-15 is only slightly faster than most hunting rifles.
He opined, “Those false statements can be dismissed as just another gaffe or ‘Corn Pop’ story, but they refer to the factual foundation for gun control under the Second Amendment. Since President Biden is suggesting that such facts are material to a ban, there is a need for accuracy in such details,” he wrote.
Incidentally, Biden also has claimed that a “.22-caliber bullet will lodge in the lung, and we can probably get it out — may be able to get it and save the life. A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body.”

The Texas Revolution of 1835-36 had many issues, but the disarming of the People of Gonzales was the last straw. Mexican Cavalry, that entered Gonzalez were ordered to seize the cannon and ALL POWDER AND SHOT, along with all firearms!
That was the soark…that began the shooting portion of the Texas Revolution! It didn’t’t end well for the TYRANTS.
The U.S. Constitution – including The Bill of Rights – does not convey, give, grant, nor transfer any of our Natural Rights. As expressed in The Declaration of Independence – a template for the future U.S. Constitution – “…We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…” (Note: Not all of our Rights are expressed, only the paramount ones upon which others are based.) Our Natural Rights existed throughout Man’s history, before there was any form of government. The Right to own firearms is based upon all three of the basic of Life, Liberty, Happiness. If you have a Right to Life, you have a Right to protect it. If you have a Right to Liberty, you have a Right to protect it. If you have a Right to Happiness, you have a Right to ensure it. Our Founders did not declare our Rights in the Bill of Rights; rather, they PROTECTED our Rights.
There was contentious arguments as to whether or not The Constitution acknowledged and protected our Rights. In order to get some of the hold-out Colonies to Ratify The Constitution, The Bill of Rights was added. It did not convey, give, grant, nor transfer any Right. It was written in plain-and-simple language to ensure that there could be no misunderstanding nor misinterpretation.
Simply, the Second Amendment is MOOT. Take away the Second Amendment and the Right STILL EXISTS!
Never say, “Constitution Right” or “Second Amendment Right”. Always state “Constitution Protected Right” or “Second Amendment Protected Right”.
Maybe Hamilton was correct when he wrote: “I go further, and affirm that bills of rights, in the sense and to the extent in which they are contended for, are not only unnecessary in the proposed Constitution, but would even be dangerous. They would contain various exceptions to powers not granted; and, on this very account, would afford a colorable pretext to claim more than were granted. For why declare that things shall not be done which there is no power to do? Why, for instance, should it be said that the liberty of the press shall not be restrained, when no power is given by which restrictions may be imposed? I will not contend that such a provision would confer a regulating power; but it is evident that it would furnish, to men disposed to usurp, a plausible pretense for claiming that power. They might urge with a semblance of reason, that the Constitution ought not to be charged with the absurdity of providing against the abuse of an authority which was not given”

It’s past time we “banned” Joe Biden…the most worthless, horrible president in America’s history.
Most all of the arguments made to ban guns are based on false information, and their constant efforts to take our guns away are mostly driven by their emotions. The fact is that these people really don’t care if they have their facts wrong, if their party want guns banned, then by god, they are on board, and will back their party regardless of any of the actual facts on the matter.
Keep in mind that most gun control advocates, or members of the electorate who are fighting tooth and nail to take our guns away have never even held an AR-15, much less actually used one. They don’t use them, so they don’t believe that anyone else should be allowed to use them either. I have actually been told that the only reason that people want guns is “we just want guns for cosplay and dress up to act cool”. They have no clue that people actually use guns for hunting, sports, target shooting, and collecting, as well as for personal protection and self-defense.
Add this to the fact that criminals prove on a daily basis that they do not care about our laws, and laws intended to “take guns off the streets” only serve to disarm responsible lawful gun owners. No criminal is going to think “oh, they just passed a law banning XYZ, so I shouldn’t do it” if they are already breaking our laws, do you actually think that adding another law for them to break will deter them? Nah, that’s just fake news.
It’s also worth noting that more people die every year in this country from medical malpractice or auto accidents than they do from AR-15 rifles, but you never hear impassioned cries to ban doctors or automobiles.
