Georgia is experiencing record early voter turnout ahead of the state’s primary election, despite left-wing fearmongering that an election integrity law passed last year was akin to Jim Crow-era restrictions. What is the background?
Because of problems stemming from the 2020 election, Georgia passed a law in 2021 to shore up election integrity. Despite the bill containing provisions used by many other states, Democrats infamously parroted numerous falsehoods about the law.
President Joe Biden, for example, described the law as “Jim Crow in the 21st Century.”
Meanwhile, the Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Georgia because of the election integrity law. The DOJ claimed the law is “racially discriminatory,” alleging without evidence it was “adopted with the purpose of denying or abridging the right to vote on account of race.”
Famously, a Major League Baseball All-Star event was pulled from Georgia over the law. The 2021 event was slated to take place at the Atlanta Braves’ field, but was moved to Colorado , which has similar voting laws to Georgia. Record turnout?!
