When tragedy strikes, there are two kinds of people in this world: the Joe Bidens and the Jim Finches. The Joe Bidens in the world see something like the tornadoes that tore through Kentucky and think, “how can I shamelessly politicize this?” The Jims of this world buy a sh!tload of food, load their offset smoker in the back of a truck, and set up shop in the middle of the damage. Because the last thing people who lost everything they have need to worry about is eating. For reference, this is the area where Jim set up shop. Jim’s reason for doing this? Five words: It needed to be done. Every so often, a reminder that not everyone is terrible is welcome. That even in tragedy, the best of America can shine through.
