This bill (HR550) does NOT create a federal vaccine database. What’s more, it puts YOU in charge of your health care data.
Per Congressman Gus Bilirakis:
There has been a great deal of misinformation circulating about a bill I voted on last week, HR 550. Contrary to some news reports, this bill had nothing to do with creating a federal database or imposing a federal vaccine mandate. It also does not give the federal government access to your vaccine records. The bill is addressing state vaccine databases that have been in existence for decades to help monitor public health (they hold aggregate data for all types of vaccines). H.R. 550 strengthens privacy protections and security measures for these state-maintained databases to ensure no personally identifiable information is included or shared with the federal government.
