MSNBC’s Joy Reid finds herself once again on the hot seat amid growing talk of a potential Kyle Rittenhouse lawsuit against the serial race-baiting cable news host.
The Rittenhouse trial was the ultimate litmus test of whether Reid could rescue her show from careening off the rails into low-ratings oblivion. She failed in flying colors.
There are too many ignorant and racially inflammatory statements uttered by Joy Reid in her fact-free reportage on the Rittenhouse trial to recount here. One particularly repugnant example is Reid pointing at the exonerated young man as the reason that Critical Race Theory exists (or doesn’t exist , depending on the day). “You want to know why Critical Race Theory exists, the actual law school theory that emphasizes that supposedly colorblind laws in America often still have racially discriminatory outcomes?” she asks. “Then look no further than the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.”
“Earlier today, the teenager accused of murdering two men and wounding a third in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year took to the stand in his own defense,” she said. “The circumstances are almost built for an actual CRT course. The white now 18-year-old faces an almost entirely white jury of his peers, with the exception of […]

I’m a reasonable man, Joy. If you want to convince me, here’s what you need to do.
Say there are roughly 500,000 blacks currently incarcerated. If there are 35,000,000 blacks in the US, that means 1.4% of the black population is currently in prison. Now let’s say they make up roughly 40% of the prison population, while blacks make up 13% of the overall population, which would, according to CRT, mean that the disparity equates to an overage of roughly 308%.
There are two possibilities here, according to CRT, which judges solely by apparent statistical disparity of outcome, tossing out any and all possible causes and factors except some mysterious, undefinable form of “white supremacy” – Either many blacks were wrongfully imprisoned when they didn’t commit a crime worthy of incarceration, or many whites were wrongfully not imprisoned when they did commit a crime worthy of incarceration.
So Either:
(1-(13%/40%)) * 500,000 = 337,500 blacks were wrongfully imprisoned
Or
1.4% of whites have committed crimes worthy of prison, may or may not have been caught and/or charged, but were not imprisoned nonetheless.
Since roughly 58% of the prison population is white, for this example the number proportionately imprisoned would equate to roughly 725,000 inmates.
And since there are 200,000,000 whites in the USA, that would equate to
(1.4% * 200,000,000) – 725,000 = 2,075,000 whites that supposedly committed crimes that should’ve landed them in prison, but they were not incarcerated.
So Joy, that’s what you can the rest of the CRT crowd can do, in order to convince me you’re correct, and your assertions are justified. Prove that some 337,500 blacks are wrongfully imprisoned, OR prove that some 2,075,000 whites are wrongfully not imprisoned.
Or, of course, you can prove some combination of the two that would bring the ratios into proportion.
You do that Joy, and you’ll win me over.
Go case-by-case, proving wrongful incarcerations of blacks, and proving wrongful non-incarcerations of whites, until you reach a balanced proportion. If you can do that, then you will have proved your theory.
Otherwise, you’re going to have to deal with the fact that there are other causes and factors involved, which ultimately equate to the likelihood that a disproportionate number of blacks are committing crimes.
That’s science
If you don’t follow the math for the statement “Since roughly 58% of the prison population is white, for this example the number proportionately imprisoned would equate to roughly 725,000 inmates.”
It is (40%/58%) * 500,000
So get to work, Joy. Case-by-case, start finding some proof. Don’t just spout off a bunch of racist and baseless claims in front of the camera. Act like a real journalist, for a change.
I accidentally wrote that ratio backwards
That math is (58%/40%) * 500,000
