MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, in a predictable diatribe about Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial and gun control, fretted about Rittenhouse’s likely acquittal and what that acquittal means about the state of American society. You can watch him fret and clutch his pearls here: “ From what I’ve seen, I think it’s pretty likely he’ll be acquitted. But there’s also the broader question of what kind of society we want to live in ” Hayes says, adding “ Do we want a society in which political conflict is settled on the streets between people with guns? One in which everyone is armed and can therefore view the other people armed as a plausible threat? ”
Hayes also denigrates Rittenhouse’s well-founded fears about the violent Antifa and BLM rioters as his worrying about a “bogeyman,” presenting the rioters in the best light and the business-protecting youth in the worst possible light.
And that’s not all, in addition to the predictable hand-wringing about vigilantism that accompanies Hayes frets about Rittenhouse’s youth and, of course, that he used one of those scary “assault rifles” we hear so much about from the talking heads:
