Fiona Lashells has been suspended 38 times from her elementary school for not wearing a face mask. This is absurd for many reason, not the least of which being that face mask mandates in schools are banned in Florida. But the Tampa Bay 2nd grader isn’t waiting for the school district to comply. She’s speaking out and standing up for her rights.
“Just because I get suspended for not wearing a mask isn’t going to change my mind. You can keep suspending me, I still have the right not to wear a mask,” she said in a speech before the school board.
“I hope you all go to jail for doing this to me,” she added. Watch:
